Revenue growth year-over-year is approaching 50%.
They’ve expanded from Tulsa, Okla., into Wichita, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo., with four more markets opening in November: St. Louis, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; and Lawrence and Topeka, Kan.
BugBros has more than 3,000 Google reviews across its locations, with a perfect 5.0 rating at each, and a Net Promoter Score of 97 across more than 1,600 customer surveys in the past year.
"It's been a wild year, for sure," says BugBros CEO Aaron Thomas, who leads the company alongside his brother Jason, the chief operating officer.
The company that aims to make its customers “crazy happy” earned top billing in Pest Control Technology's (PCT) Best Places to Work for small employers this year.
And now BugBros has received the National Pest Management Association's first Technology Adopter Award, presented at PestWorld on Oct. 22 in Dallas.
“When it comes to the Technology Adopter Award,” Aaron Thomas added, “we look at ourselves as a technology company masquerading in a pest control uniform.”
The NPMA award celebrates companies that embrace "innovative technology to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen their workforce."
FieldRoutes, a ServiceTitan company, is the award sponsor.
Nominations were evaluated across five areas, and applicants were asked how technology had made an impact on a company's business operations, growth, trajectory, employees and customers.
Here's how BugBros has delivered impact in the five areas:
Technology integration: FieldRoutes runs as BugBros’ operating hub, connected by open API to a stack of specialized tools, from AI-powered pricing to fleet safety tracking.
Business growth: Fueling revenue growth for BugBros, leads are up 364% in a year, new recurring subscriptions grew 210% year-over-year, and recurring subscriptions have grown 566% over three years.
Operational optimization: A custom scorecard grades every technician in real time, while automated pricing and routing keep a lean team running efficiently across three states.
Workforce development: BugBros built the director of technology role to put data and automation directly in the hands of its people, not just its leadership.
Innovation mindset: The company treats experimentation as routine, testing new tools constantly and dropping what doesn’t work without hesitation.
BugBros, founded in 2015 when Aaron Thomas bought a one-truck operation in Dodge City, Kan., has maintained a focus on employees and customers from its early days.
And the embrace of technology is propelling BugBros to greater revenue with every passing year.
"That's never going to stop for us," Jason Thomas said. "But it's really nice to see the fruits of our labor finally paying off a bit and getting recognized.
"Obviously, that's not necessarily what it's all about. It's about building a world-class organization, but it's nice to get a little kudos along the way."
